Hello! I am so glad you are here and I am so excited you have stumbled upon this blog or maybe you clicked the link that I shared, either way welcome to my very first ever blog post! I am excited to share fun things about my life, my family and my faith as I travel this entrepreneurial path of my photography business.
On this blog you will read about my large and crazy family, how I met my husband including all the fun stories, the love I have for my photography business and the desire I have to share Jesus with you!
Lets jump right in to how Justin and I met! All the giddy feelings here. We met our very first day of freshman classes at Liberty University. We were both 18 and excited for the next 4 years ahead of us. We had both grown up in a loving christian home but we both hadn’t experienced “life on our own” or as much as this college life could offer. Even though we still had a curfew we felt like we were hot stuff, as freshmen in college. Hey when you are 18 and your parents aren’t telling you when to come home or make your bed, then you have reached FREEDOM! haha totally joking! These girls were my people before Justin entered my world and they were the ones to first “approve” of this crazy guy! Life before Justin in a few silly pictures.
Ok back to when I met the man of my dreams. Back to that very first day. No it was not love at first sight but it was friendship at first joke. Justin was a jokester, prankster whatever you want to call it. Little did he know, so was I. I can’t tell you exactly what he said but I do remember laughing a lot in that class. Once that class ended, we didn’t have any other classes together and he didn’t have my number ( I didn’t have a phone yet, but that’s a whole other story we won’t get into…haha).
So, what is a guy to do who wants to get in touch with “that girl in class”? Turn to facebook! Yes, such a romantic, he searched facebook for all the Anna Gonzalez’s (yes I know, you have more questions, I am 1/4 Puerto Rican and have no looks to show for it, don’t worry it will be ok!) back to Justin searching frantically through all the facebook Anna’s. He finds me and we become friends. Staying up late listening to Taylor Swift chatting away over AIM, yes aim, because facebook messenger wasn’t created yet… stop it I am not that old. Joking with each other and eventually getting our friends together for a game of ultimate frisbee. That was when it all started.
Justin decided it would be so funny to dump a whole gallon of lemonade on me after our game. I don’t remember what exactly came next but over the next several months we went back and forth with water balloon fights on campus, to trashing each others cars, to him spraying me with a fire extinguisher, yah that was awful, but it was seriously some of the best days of my life.
After telling me I wasn’t “the one” we parted ways for all of 3 months until he realized maybe I was the one and decided to ask me on a date to where you might ask? Taco Bell! Yes Taco Bell was our first official date where Justin would ask me if he could pursue me for marriage. I love that he was sure this time. He knew that he loved me, although he wouldn’t tell me in those words for quite a few month, and that he would do whatever he had to do to win me back. On December 7th, 2007 he handed me this picture and on the back it said “Will you be my girlfriend?” Of course I said yes! I knew that day we would get married someday.
I can’t wait to tell you more about how he “popped” the question. Has “Justin” all over it but for now I will leave you with this!
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 “Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
